Overview

Small archipelago of six islands. It is touted to be one of the most beautiful yet easily accessible island groups in the world. The islands came to worldwide prominence when Koh Phi Phi Leh Maya Beach was used as a location for the 2000 British-American film The Beach starring Leonardo di Caprio.

It is superstar among Thailand’s islands.

Snorkeling day trip to Phi Phi Islands covers everything. You can snorkel, dive or just swim in the blue lagoons. Phi Phi is a great place to do your PADI Discover Scuba Dive. It is highly probable that people see turtle or shark on their very first dive and will fall into love with diving! Phi Phi is one the best snorkeling place in the Andaman Sea with plenty of colorful marine life just few meters under the water surface.

Of the two islands, one is completely free of human inhabitants (Phi Phi Leh), and the other is without roads, but offers huge entertainment possibilities (Phi Phi Don). Koh Phi Phi was devastated by the Indian Ocean Tsunami of December 2004, when nearly all of the island’s infrastructure was destroyed. As of 2010 most, but not all, of this has been restored.

Maya Bay, on the island of Phi Phi Leh, was closed in 2018 after officials said a sharp rise in visitors had severely damaged the environment. But now tourists are being allowed back due to the ecosystem recovering.

Itinerary

Departure at 9am

You meet us at our office to try snorkeling equipment (fins and mask) 30 minutes before scheduled departure. You can leave your motorbike at our office or at the pier.

Maya Bay

Charming place where the movie “The Beach” with Leonardo DiCaprio was shot. That is our first snorkeling spot between the boat and tiny beach in the bay. After about one hour of snorkeling we walk through the island for about 10 minutes from Loh Sama bay pier to another side to Maya beach itself. It suddenly opens up spectacular view into the bay. Swimming is not allowed from the beach.

Koh Bida Nok and Koh Bida Nai

These two small rock islands are best snorkeling and diving spots in Phi Phi archipelago. Jump into the water and look for bamboo sharks. This is our second snorkeling spot where you can enjoy your lunch on the boat. We serve fried rice with chicken. Please inform us about vegetarian diet in advance.

Pileh Lagoon

We slowly cruise into fabulous lagoon with high rocks above us. The water inside this beautiful lagoon is of the most crystal clear azure waters you may have ever seen. It is famous photo scenery from postcards.

Viking Cave

On the northeastern tip of the island, Viking Cave is a major collection point for outrageously valuable swifts' nests, the key components of the Chinese specialty bird's-nest soup.

Monkey Beach

Monkey beach is located on the west side of Phi Phi Don, an excellent spot to feed the monkeys that sit on the cliffs or walk on the beach.

We show you one more secret place and we head back to Koh Yao Yai for about 45minutes. We will arrange a return taxi for you or you get back to resort by rental scooter. Check the FAQs about transfers.
